Guiding Our Days High School Program offers a flexible, accredited high school experience through our partnership with BEST Academy Charter. Students can choose between two distinct learning paths tailored to their goals—whether they plan to attend a UC, community college, or enter a trade career.
(essentially a tutor for each subject)
(supports students, collects & reviews samples, meets for LPs)
(BEST pays for high school courses and AA degree coursework)
Students can earn an AA degree while completing high school
Dual enrollment allows students to earn both high school and college credit simultaneously:
This pathway enables students to accelerate their learning and graduate high school with college credits or even an AA degree at no additional cost.
BEST Academy supports multiple graduation tracks,
allowing students to:
(for those not transferring to a UC)
(for those not transferring to a UC)
Note: To earn an AA degree, students must take community college courses. The AA is awarded by a community college, and high school courses alone do not fulfill the requirements.

We work closely with BEST coordinators and families to:
- Plan custom high school pathways for each student
(college-bound or career/trade-focused)
- Monitor academic progress and collect necessary work samples
- Provide support and accountability to keep students on track for graduation and transfer
Whether your child is entering 9th grade or transferring in later, we help build a path tailored to their gifts, interests, and long-term goals.
Students must take 6 classes in 9th grade:
💡 Students do not need to take history in 9th grade.
BEST Academy offers a
Career Technical Education (CTE) program:
(CTE costs do not come out of $4,000 charter funds)
📌 This is a great option for students who want to enter a trade profession instead of pursuing a university degree.
BEST Academy Charter is partnered with Arizona State University (ASU), offering students access to online college courses at no cost. These courses provide an excellent opportunity for high school students to earn college credit without using any of their $4,000 charter funds.
✅ Fully Funded
ASU courses do not count toward the
$4,000 charter allotment
✅ Earn College Credit
Courses count toward high school and college requirements
✅ Flexible Online Learning
Students can complete coursework
on their own schedule
✅ Wide Range of Subjects
Options available in core subjects and electives
✅ Strong College Preparation
Builds an academic foundation for students planning to transfer to UC, CSU, private colleges, or trade programs
Students enroll in online college courses through
ASU while completing their high school coursework.
Classes are UC-approved and can fulfill high school subject requirements.
Courses are self-paced, allowing students to balance their high school and college workload effectively
Students can earn an Associate of Arts (AA) degree while in high school through BEST Academy’s partnerships with Arizona State University (ASU) and community colleges.
Students who choose the AA pathway will combine:
✅ ASU Online Courses
(fully funded, no charter funds used)
✅ Community College Dual Enrollment
(BEST pays for tuition & books)
✅ High School Coursework
This structured plan allows students to graduate in 3 years with both a high school diploma and an AA degree, giving them a head start on university transfer or workforce entry.
3-Year Graduation Plan
📌 9th Grade: Tradit. HS coursework (6 classes)
📌 10th Grade: HS coursework + 1-2 ASU
or dual enrollment courses
📌 11th Grade: Mostly ASU & dual enrollment
courses to finish AA degree
💡 Because one semester of a community college course counts as a full year of high school credit, students can accelerate their coursework and graduate in just 3 years.
✅ Motivated, independent learners who can handle a faster pace
✅ Students planning to transfer to a UC, CSU, or private university
✅ Those who want to enter the workforce earlier with an AA degree
📌 Alternative Tracks: Students may also choose to graduate in 4 years with an AA degree or pursue a CTE career pathway instead of college transfer.
