Guiding Our Days High School Program offers a flexible, accredited high school experience through our partnership with BEST Academy Charter. Students can choose between two distinct learning paths tailored to their goals—whether they plan to attend a UC, community college, or enter a trade career.
High School Options
Option 1: Digital “Online” Learning
- Approx. 4 hours per day of digital coursework
- Includes a Subject Matter Teacher
(essentially a tutor for each subject)
- Office hours for tutoring & academic support
- UC-approved courses
Option 2: Oak Meadow Curriculum
- Must Purchase Curriculum
- Includes a Subject Matter Specialist for academic guidance
- Advisory Teacher: Ms. Kirst
(supports students, collects & reviews samples, meets for LPs)
- UC-approved curriculum
- Dual Enrollment at Community College
(BEST pays for high school courses and AA degree coursework)
Students can earn an AA degree while completing high school
WHAT IS DUAL ENROLLMENT?
Dual enrollment allows students to earn both high school and college credit simultaneously:
- One semester of a college course is equivalent to a full year (two semesters) of a high school course.
- This means students can complete an entire year of a high school subject in just one semester of a college course.
- BEST covers tuition and books for college classes.
This pathway enables students to accelerate their learning and graduate high school with college credits or even an AA degree at no additional cost.

BEST Academy supports multiple graduation tracks,
allowing students to:
- Graduate in 3 years with an AA degree
(for those not transferring to a UC)
- Graduate in 3 years with an AA degree for UC transfer
- Graduate in 4 years with an AA degree
(for those not transferring to a UC)
Note: To earn an AA degree, students must take community college courses. The AA is awarded by a community college, and high school courses alone do not fulfill the requirements.

How does Guiding Our Days work with BEST & GOOD High?
We work closely with BEST coordinators and families to:
- Plan custom high school pathways for each student
(college-bound or career/trade-focused)
- Monitor academic progress and collect necessary work samples
- Provide support and accountability to keep students on track for graduation and transfer
Whether your child is entering 9th grade or transferring in later, we help build a path tailored to their gifts, interests, and long-term goals.
How does Guiding Our Days work with BEST & GOOD High?
Students must take 6 classes in 9th grade:
- English
- Math
- Science
- PE
- (Required for 9th & 10th grade)
- Elective or Foreign Language
- (Options to follow: Film, Digital Media, Performing Arts, etc.)
- Additional Elective or Support Course
💡 Students do not need to take history in 9th grade.
How does Guiding Our Days work with BEST & GOOD High?
BEST Academy offers a
Career Technical Education (CTE) program:
- 2-year commitment
- Completed through a community college
- BEST fully funds this program
(CTE costs do not come out of $4,000 charter funds)
- Provides certifications and career training in fields such as:
- Healthcare
- Business & Finance
- Computer Science
- Digital Media & Graphic Design
- Engineering & Trade Skills
📌 This is a great option for students who want to enter a trade profession instead of pursuing a university degree.
BEST Academy Charter is partnered with Arizona State University (ASU), offering students access to online college courses at no cost. These courses provide an excellent opportunity for high school students to earn college credit without using any of their $4,000 charter funds.

Students can earn an Associate of Arts (AA) degree while in high school through BEST Academy’s partnerships with Arizona State University (ASU) and community colleges.
Students who choose the AA pathway will combine:
