Lauren Elsberry brings over a decade of international teaching experience to the GOOD High School community. She spent ten years working with Youth With A Mission, dedicating her life to loving and serving others across cultures. With an International partnership, she helped advocate for the voiceless—working with children who had been trafficked and promoting hope and restoration.
For the past two years, Ms. Elsberry has been actively supporting and educating students within California’s vibrant homeschooling network. Her passion lies in working with high school students—guiding them through both academic discovery and personal growth. She believes this stage of life is full of potential, and she is deeply committed to helping each student find their voice, path, and purpose.
Lauren holds a Master’s degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Biola University. She is passionate about integrating culture and education, believing in the importance of fostering empathy and broadening perspectives. Her teaching philosophy is grounded in helping students develop a deep respect for diverse cultures and see beyond their immediate sphere of influence.
In 2020, after earning her Master’s degree, Lauren was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. While the world faced a global pandemic, she navigated a deeply personal health journey, learning a new language of medical terms and procedures. These past five years have been a season of profound growth, where she feels she has earned a “second degree”—one in suffering and resilience. With hope and gratitude, she now steps forward, believing the worst of the disease is behind her, and embracing the calling to teach with renewed purpose and joy.
